PBDTS-TDZ (PCE13) is a new high-bandgap polymer used in organic solar cells. This material used as a donor achieves a PCE of 13% in conjunction with a non-fullerene acceptor (ITIC).

PBDTS-TDZ is a promising new conjugated polymer used in high performance organic solar cells. When used with the non-fullerene acceptor ITIC, a PCE of over 12% is achievable in single-junction devices, and the PCE can reach over 13% when used in a homotandem dual junction device.[1]
This high bandgap material is very promising to achieve high Voc devices with non-fullerene acceptors, while still reaching high current values due to absorption complementarity. It is easily processed using chloroform, chlorobenzene and dichlorobenzene. This polymer can be solubilized in xylene.
